This work acts like a network of signs, memories, and inner images. Figures, animals, and symbols do not merely stand side by side, but enter into a relationship with one another. Nothing is explicitly explained – everything refers to something else. Three fish, three roses, a raven: elements that emerge like fragments of thought within the pictorial space, together forming a silent order.
The fish represent movement and depth, life beneath the surface. The roses bring something delicate and vulnerable into the image – emblems of love, transience, and inner beauty. Finally, the raven provides a counterpoint: vigilant, calm, knowing. It is both an observer and a guardian, a sign of transition and consciousness.
In terms of color, an interplay of blue, gray, and warm gold tones dominates. In the mono-sgraffito technique, lines are revealed, surfaces are layered, and figures appear only to dissolve again. Drawing and painting merge into a surface that feels alive and carries time within it.
"Between Gazes and Beings" is not a riddle to be solved, but an image to be read – slowly, intuitively, in one’s own way. A work about balance, contrasts, and the silent interplay of life, feeling, and insight.
Was ist Monosgrafitto?
