This work by Ri Meuser von Eschmar captures the moment when something is decided – even before the first step is taken. Three figures stand opposite one another, connected by glances, gestures, and an invisible bond of expectation and hesitation. It is neither a farewell nor a departure, but the breath in between.
The warm yellow and ochre tones lend the scene a protective, almost earthy calm. Lines and shapes remain deliberately open, as if thoughts and feelings were still sorting themselves out. The figures appear both vigilant and vulnerable – accompanied by silent beings that seem like inner companions.
Using her characteristic, multi-layered technique, Ri Meuser von Eschmar creates not a concrete destination, but an inner state: the pause before change. A picture about trust, closeness, and the courage to engage with the unknown.
