Description
The work "Before the Blue Tower" (1999) leads the viewer into a quiet, almost dreamlike scenery. A brightly glowing tower rises above a night-shimmering landscape – its blue light seems to immerse the figures at the foot of the stairs in a dialogue of memory and expectation.
In this work, Ri Meuser von Eschmar combines architecture, light, and movement into a symbolic composition. The monumental stillness of the tower meets the delicacy of the figures, who appear like shadows or spirits of another time. Golden pigments lend the painting depth and luster, while the cool shades of blue emphasize the mystical atmosphere.
With her characteristic mono-sgraffito technique, Meuser creates an almost magical materiality – the surface appears simultaneously solid and fluid, as if the moment between dream and reality had been captured.
"Before the Blue Tower" is a work about transitions: between light and dark, between human and space, between the visible and what remains.
Was ist Monosgrafitto?
