Dream child

Image Interpretation

Several imaginative figures move through the pictorial space as if in a floating round dance. Two delicate horses carry mysterious forms, while one figure glides alongside them almost in flight. The figures appear childlike yet symbolically charged – with ornamental headdresses, small birds, and fleeting lines that weave through the scene like threads of thought. The background, composed of soft, flowing layers of violet-gray, creates a stage that is less of a space and more of a state – an inner place between dream and memory.

Atmosphere & Effect

The work radiates a weightless serenity. It is playful, almost fairytale-like, and yet not naive – rather, it is imbued with a quiet melancholy. The figures seem to encounter one another without ever truly touching, as if they were part of a fleeting moment that cannot be captured. One is drawn into a world where logic plays no role and movement becomes an expression of inner freedom.

Background & Meaning

Here, Ri Meuser von Eschmar creates an imagery that is highly reminiscent of childhood imagination – yet supported by a deeper, philosophical level. Animals, particularly horses and birds, act as companions between the realms of reality and dream. The scene can be read as a symbol of the human journey: carried by inner images, memories, and longings that can never be fully grasped. It is a journey without a destination – and therein lies its beauty.
