Product Description
Dream Fish (1973–1974) is an expressive work in mono-sgraffito technique measuring 17 × 32 cm. The large body of the fish fills almost the entire image area and appears both powerful and calm—as if it were gliding through a dreamlike underwater world.
The surface is characterized by warm red, ochre, and gold tones that combine with dark line structures. The sgraffito technique creates fine, incised lines that reveal fins, body structures, and movement. The fish's large eye and the ray-like lines in the foreground, in particular, give the image a vivid, almost mysterious aura.
The work blends natural motif and fantasy: the fish does not appear as a realistic depiction, but rather as a symbolic figure from a poetic underwater world. The luminous color fields and the vivid surface give the image depth and movement.
Dream Fish is a characteristic example of the playful and experimental visual language of the early 1970s.
