In “Bird Family in Spring,” Ri Meuser von Eschmar unfolds a multi-layered world between animal form, symbol, and fantasy. The birds do not appear naturalistic, but rather like creatures from an inner landscape. They stand upright, almost human, and carry within them traces of movement, memory, and transformation.
Golden and earthy layers of paint cover the bodies like grown surfaces. Lines are etched, forms are exposed and then painted over again. In the mono-sgraffito technique, a vibrant texture is created that allows the image to breathe. Nothing is smooth or finished—everything seems to be in a state of development.
Butterflies and small illustrative details surround the birds, reinforcing the impression of lightness and transition. Here, the bird appears not just as an animal, but as a symbol: for vigilance, freedom, and the connection between earth and air, between inner and outer worlds.
“Bird Image” is not a narrative motif, but an open space. A work about transformation and inner movement—quiet, powerful, and full of poetic depth.
Was ist Monosgrafitto?
