“Wedding Couple” does not depict a celebratory moment in the classical sense, but rather the quiet intimacy of two people. The figures face each other, their bodies slightly inclined, their gazes connected. There is no pathos, no grand promise—rather, a silent understanding that becomes palpable between them.
They are surrounded by other figures, birds, and floating forms that act as witnesses or inner companions. They lend the scene depth and point to what sustains a connection: memory, protection, and shared becoming. The space remains open, almost dreamlike, without clear boundaries.
The coloring is warm and earthy, streaked with soft shades of red, ocher, and gray. In the mono-sgraffito technique, drawing and painting combine to form a surface that allows for movement. Lines are revealed, planes are pulled back—nothing seems fixed, everything remains alive.
“Wedding Couple” is a painting about connection beyond rituals. About intimacy, trust, and the moment in which two paths consciously find one another. A work that does not celebrate, but supports.
