In "To the Butterflies," Ri Meuser von Eschmar opens up a poetic world of imagery in which human, animal, and symbolism merge. Two female figures stand at the center of the composition. They appear as companions—perhaps two sides of the same soul—calm, open, and imbued with a quiet inwardness.
Butterflies, birds, and fish-like creatures surround the figures. They represent transformation, transition, and the connection between the visible and inner worlds. Everything seems to be in motion, almost floating, without firm ground, yet full of harmony.
The color palette of soft blue tones, warm ochre, and orange combines with fine lines and transparent layers. Using the mono-sgraffito technique, drawing and painting merge into a surface that feels vibrant and organic.
"To the Butterflies" is not a narrated fairy tale, but a silent image about change, trust, and letting go. A work that does not define, but rather opens up space for one's own thoughts and feelings.
Was ist Monosgrafitto?
