Crew to the Moon

In "Crew to the Moon," Ri Meuser von Eschmar creates a surreal scene between a departure and an internal journey. Several figures appear like a community on the path into the unknown—not as real astronauts, but as spiritual entities connected by a shared transition. Their faces seem still, almost transcendent, as if they are already detaching themselves from the gravity of the mundane.

The moon, suggested by floating forms and circular motifs, represents less a destination in a technical sense than a symbol: for longing, imagination, and the desire to cross boundaries. Architectural fragments, lines, and abstract signs reinforce the impression of a dream in which space and time lose their fixed order.

The color palette of rose, violet, gray, and warm gold accents lends the image a fragile, almost floating atmosphere. In the mono-sgraffito technique, painting and drawing overlap; figures emerge and vanish again in the color space—as if they were part of a collective thought.
