In "Lady with Feather," we encounter a figure suspended between movement and stillness. The lady turns slightly toward the viewer, her body appearing to be in transition, her gaze calm and open. Her raised hand follows the flight of a butterfly—a delicate moment where both encounter and letting go become palpable.
The feather accompanying her appearance acts as a quiet sign of lightness and protection. It represents the gentle, the intangible, and thoughts that cannot be held. The butterfly as a counterpart reinforces this motif: transformation, freedom, and trust in the next step.
In terms of color, a vast space of blue, green, and warm gold tones unfolds. Using the mono-sgraffito technique, Ri Meuser von Eschmar combines fine drawing with transparent layers of color. Lines are revealed, surfaces are covered over again, so that figure and landscape merge into one another. Nothing seems finished—everything remains in motion.
"Lady with Feather" is a painting about inner freedom and quiet presence. About the moment in which one does not hold on, but accompanies. A work full of calm, lightness, and poetic openness.
Was ist Monosgrafitto?
