In “Blue-Golden Mosque”, Ri Meuser von Eschmar creates a place of stillness and reflection. The architecture does not rise monumentally, but seems to grow out of light and color. Domes and towers are gently outlined, embedded in a deep blue-violet, interspersed with warm golden accents.
Gold here does not appear ostentatious, but rather like an inner glow. It lies upon the forms like a memory, like time lived. The reflection in the lower part of the image reinforces the impression of peace and contemplation – as if the space were opening downward and simultaneously leading inward.
Using the mono-sgraffito technique, fine lines, overlays, and glimpses are created. Architecture and atmosphere are not clearly separated, but merge with one another. The mosque is experienced less as a building, but rather as a symbol: for protection, gathering, and spiritual vastness.
“Blue-Golden Mosque” is not a concrete place, but an inner space. A picture of stillness, of the balance between grounding and transcendence – and of the power of light that emanates from the depths.
Was ist Monosgrafitto?
