Description

"Spaceart" from 1988 is a work that leads beyond the boundaries of the earthly – a glimpse into the depths of the cosmos and at the same time into the depths of one's own soul. In this piece, Prof. Ri Meuser von Eschmar displays the full spectrum of her Mono Sgraffito technique, a method she developed herself in which she creates an incomparable luminosity through the multi-layered application, scraping, and glazing of pigments and metal particles.

In "Spaceart", a mysterious universe of darkness and light unfolds. Deep black, streaked with iridescent tones of violet, emerald green, and gold, forms the background for an explosion of energy – a white, ascending ray that rises from the silence like a cosmic birth. It is as if matter were revealing itself at the moment of its creation – nothingness transforming into form, movement, and life.

The work carries the poetic tension between chaos and order, between origin and eternity. Every line, every layer seems to be part of a greater rhythm. The light refracts on the surface, changing with every movement of the viewer – just as the universe itself never stands still.

With "Spaceart", Meuser created a work that is not merely abstract art, but a visual meditation on existence. It invites one to lose oneself in the infinite – and perhaps, in that vastness, to rediscover a piece of oneself.
