Turtle Birds (1990) unites human, animal, and fantasy in a multi-layered, poetic imagery. Created using the mono-sgraffito technique, the work thrives on finely etched lines, delicate transitions, and an atmospheric palette of turquoise, gold, and warm earth tones.
At the center are mysterious figures whose faces and bodies seem to merge into one another. Birds and turtle-like creatures appear as symbolic companions—partly floating, partly calmly observing. The composition feels narrative and open at the same time, as if capturing a scene from a dream.
