Product Description
Family Portrait (1970) is an early work created using the mono-sgraffito technique on a 40 × 50 cm surface, depicting a complex and imaginative world of figures. Numerous characters, animals, and symbolic forms appear within the pictorial space, resembling a vibrant community of memories, stories, and observations.
The composition is dense and narrative in structure: figures encounter one another and small scenes unfold side by side, while fine line drawings and transparent color fields create a light, almost sketchy atmosphere. Birds, faces, and humorous details lend the work a playful vitality.
Delicate pinks, ochres, and earth tones combine with soft nuances of gray and blue. The characteristic sgraffito texture creates a lively surface where lines and colors merge with one another.
Family Portrait acts as a visual collection of characters and stories – an imaginative original from the early creative period of the 1970s.
