Description
"The Night of the Blue Fire" from 1975 is a work that, with its mysterious radiance, ranks among the most fascinating pieces by Prof. Ri Meuser von Eschmar. Created in her self-developed Mono Sgraffito technique, the painting unfolds an atmosphere somewhere between dream, ritual, and luminous silence.
Two figures stand facing each other—their movements are calm yet carried by intense tension. In the center, a golden flame burns, guarded in a bowl, its light reflected in the blue of the background. The "blue fire" seems not to burn, but to glow—a symbol of inner, spiritual energy.
The Mono Sgraffito technique allows Meuser to unite depth and movement on a single surface. Through layering, scratching, and re-glazing, metallic, shimmering color worlds emerge that change their effect depending on the incidence of light. Gold, cobalt, and purple merge into a mystical color space reminiscent of a nocturnal ceremony.
The scene acts like an ancient ritual: two souls in exchange, connected by the light between them. It is a dialogue without words, sustained by trust, insight, and inner transformation. The work thus stands as an emblem of Meuser’s artistic vision—light as the origin of all life, and color as the language of the invisible.
"The Night of the Blue Fire" is more than a painting—it is a meditative experience.
A work that burns without destroying. That warms without being loud.
And that, in its luminous blue, reveals the quiet power of the soul.
Was ist Monosgrafitto?
