Burgenbild is an atmospherically dense work from 2000, in which architecture, light, and depth merge into a quiet moment of tension. From a dark, almost bottomless color space rises a sacral-seeming form, its contours growing out of the water like a cathedral or a temple. Golden and silvery light structures break through the blackness, reflecting in vertical lines and creating the impression of reflection, ascent, and dissolution all at once.

The multilayered textures, fine overlays, and subtle sgraffito traces make the surface appear alive – as if the structure were not fixed, but in a state of transition. Between matter and light, substance and reflection, a moment of suspension emerges. The image appears both calm and powerful, like an inner threshold between depth and elevation.
