In this work, we encounter two figures who seem as if they were born not of paint, but of memory. "The Guardians of the Light" tell a quiet, fairy-tale story – one that hovers somewhere between the past, a vision, and a spiritual present.

The two female figures appear like time travelers: warm, earthy, wrapped in an aura of gold and brown tones that Ri Meuser von Eschmar condenses into a vibrant mesh of pigment layers using her unmistakable mono-sgraffito technique. Their faces are calm, knowing, almost familiar – as if one were meeting beings who have been standing watch for centuries.

At their feet sits a bird, a symbol of purity and spiritual transformation. And to the right, almost like a secret message: three small candles – the eternal light, one of the central symbols in the artist's work. They stand for protection, wisdom, and the power of the imperishable.

Above the shoulders of the guardians, another space opens up: a delicate vision of architectural forms, like a memory of places that were once important – or will be again.
