Description
"Auf Wiedersehen" (Goodbye) depicts a quiet, almost ritualistic scene of departure. Two figurative forms stand facing one another, separated yet connected by a narrow, light-filled center. The figure on the left appears dark and closed, almost shadowy, while the one on the right appears lighter and seems to be already moving away from the center. Between them, a small bird emerges, fragile and vibrant, as a symbol for the unspeakable space between closeness and separation. Golden and earthy tones permeate the surface, at times dense, at times abraded, making the scene appear as if built from layers of memory. The lines are tentative, not explanatory, leaving room for emotions that cannot be clearly defined. The painting does not convey a dramatic end, but rather a quiet, dignified farewell—a moment of pause in which closeness, loss, and hope are simultaneously palpable.
